Marina Mata

Education

I completed a double degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education at the University of Barcelona. I then pursued a Master’s degree in Education for Global Futures at the University of Oulu (Finland), with a focus on education policy, including one semester at KU Leuven.

Experience

I have worked as a primary school teacher in the Catalan public education system, combining this experience with work in international education organisations. At Education International, the global federation of teachers’ unions, I contributed to the Go Public! Fund Education campaign, which advocates for fully funded public education systems and challenges cuts, austerity and privatisation.

At PEHRC, I worked on issues related to education privatisation and human rights. I have also collaborated with the Service-Learning (ApS) office and research group at the Faculty of Education of the University of Barcelona.
