The Communities that Educate appeal seeks to identify community initiatives that promote collaborative work and leadership among various stakeholders (schools, families, NGOs, museums, libraries, networks, health centers, leisure organizations, universities, etc.) and that offer educational opportunities for learning and development to children and young people.
We are looking for ongoing initiatives, whether new or established, that wish to join the following four challenges:
- Increase access to and participation in high-value educational initiatives for all children and young people, guaranteeing equal opportunities.
- Connect school and non-school time, formal and non-formal education, fostering collaboration among different stakeholders, especially with educational institutions.
- Develop the educational potential of the community, increasing collaborative work to generate effective responses to the educational needs of children and young people.
- Connect the interests and motivations of children and young people with local educational resources to personalize their learning experiences.
From all the submitted projects, a jury of professionals from different disciplines and institutions will select a maximum of 30 projects. The Equitat.org Foundation will offer the promoters of these 30 initiatives the opportunity to participate in a unique training and mentoring program designed to guide their projects toward an Education360 perspective, focusing on full-time education.
This program will draw on the expertise of specialists and, especially, the experience and background of the selected initiative promoters. The deadline for submitting projects is April 18th, 2018.
