{"id":139267,"date":"2021-07-28T05:29:50","date_gmt":"2021-07-28T05:29:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fundaciobofill.mortensen.cat\/publicacions-videos\/evidence\/"},"modified":"2021-07-28T05:29:50","modified_gmt":"2021-07-28T05:29:50","slug":"evidence","status":"publish","type":"publicacions","link":"https:\/\/www.equitat.org\/en\/publicacions-videos\/evidence","title":{"rendered":"Research in the service of an evidence-informed education policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Policy making is much more than applying the conclusions of science, but we must have rigorous knowledge to make good decisions.<\/strong> Incorporating and considering the results of scientific research is extremely valuable for addressing social issues: not only does it allow for more effective management,&nbsp;a greater impact and a more efficient use of resources, but it also helps to streamline public debate and bring greater transparency to the process of designing and implementing public policies, and their results.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>And yet, in Catalonia there is no firm&nbsp;commitment to make research and&nbsp;evaluation a key tool for educational&nbsp;improvement.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><strong>This exacerbates the risk that decisions&nbsp;about education practices and policies&nbsp;will be made based on tradition or&nbsp;inertia<\/strong>, that practices that have proven&nbsp;ineffective will remain in place or that&nbsp;policies that have proven effective&nbsp;will not be promoted.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>This report has been prepared from a&nbsp;work process led by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.equitat.org\/who-we-are\" target=\"_blank\">Fundaci\u00f3 Bofill<\/a><\/strong>.
