{"id":118241,"date":"2024-07-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-07-13T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fundaciobofill.mortensen.cat\/projectes\/desegregaction\/"},"modified":"2026-05-19T12:49:54","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T10:49:54","slug":"desegregaction","status":"publish","type":"projectes","link":"https:\/\/www.equitat.org\/en\/desegregaction","title":{"rendered":"Reduce school segregation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Catalonia there are more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equitat.org\/blog\/mapa-interactiu-quin-nivell-de-segregaci-escolar-hi-ha-al-teu-municipi\">400 segregated schools and institutes<\/a>, around 17%. <strong>School segregation seriously harms the educational and life opportunities<\/strong> of all students in the country, causes strong inequalities for the children and young people who attend these centers and is a serious threat to social cohesion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Equitat.org<\/strong> analyzes the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equitat.org\/blog\/que-es-segregacio-escolar\">levels of school segregation in Catalonia<\/a>, at local and national levels, denounces pending challenges that the administration has the responsibility to face and disseminates measures to reduce it. It also promotes awareness-raising campaigns and tools.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Within the European context, levels of school segregation in Catalonia have been very high for many years, with no signs of improvement. These high levels lead to a low overall educational attainment and a high degree of inequality. The DeSegregAction project monitors levels of school segregation and promotes actions to deploy effective desegregation
