We now decide to put it in our name at a time when it is most questioned and most needed.\u201d<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"250\" data-end=\"432\">The organization is changing its name to make explicit that only with equity can we achieve quality education and a society that promotes talent, progresses, and moves forward.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"434\" data-end=\"681\">The Equitat.org foundation will continue to promote proposals to improve the quality of the Catalan education system, with a special focus on school dropout, segregation, reading promotion, family and community education, and digital equity.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"683\" data-end=\"1047\">Since 1969, the foundation has promoted 2,800 reports and projects. In the past year alone, Equitat.org has produced around twenty research studies with more than 80 proposals and the participation of over 1,800 teachers, experts, and collaborators, alongside 270 municipalities and 3,000 volunteers, with an active community of more than 40,000 subscribers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1049\" data-end=\"1310\"><strong>Fundaci\u00f3 Jaume Bofill becomes Equitat.org<\/strong>. The organization incorporates its mission into its name to <strong data-start=\"1171\" data-end=\"1247\">explicitly advocate for quality education and real opportunities for all<\/strong>, in a context of growing social complexity and polarization.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1312\" data-end=\"1523\">As in recent years, <strong>Equitat.org will remain focused on education<\/strong>, promoting research, programs, and partnerships to <strong data-start=\"1428\" data-end=\"1469\">tackle school dropout and segregation<\/strong> and to promote education beyond the school setting.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1525\" data-end=\"1752\">The new name aims to convey that <strong data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1611\">improving education means addressing inequalities<\/strong>, while also highlighting the daily work of thousands of organizations, municipalities, professionals, and citizens who make this possible.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1754\" data-end=\"2135\">\u201cCalling ourselves Equitat.org is a statement of intent,\u201d explained Ismael Palac\u00edn. \u201cWe have been working for equity for 57 years, and we are choosing to include it in our name at a time when many voices question whether all people deserve the same dignity and rights.\u201d <strong data-start=\"2026\" data-end=\"2123\">\u201cEquity is non-negotiable and essential for democracy, progress, and a country\u2019s excellence,\u201d<\/strong> he added.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2137\" data-end=\"2376\">Today, Palac\u00edn continued, \u201cwe cannot build on a fractured country,\u201d with 35% child poverty, 17% school segregation, and 13.5% early school leaving.<br data-start=\"2284\" data-end=\"2287\" \/><strong data-start=\"2287\" data-end=\"2363\">\u201cWe refuse to accept a world that is a race between winners and losers,\u201d<\/strong> he stated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2378\" data-end=\"2794\">Equitat.org retains the symbol that has identified the foundation for years, along with similar corporate colors to preserve public recognition. The logo, based on the equals sign, reminds us that <strong data-start=\"2575\" data-end=\"2635\">all people deserve the same respect, dignity, and rights<\/strong>, and is now complemented by the concept of equity to highlight that <strong data-start=\"2704\" data-end=\"2791\">ensuring real opportunities requires different responses to unequal starting points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2796\" data-end=\"2861\"><strong data-start=\"2796\" data-end=\"2859\">2,800 studies to reduce social and educational inequalities<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2863\" data-end=\"3026\">Since 1969, Equitat.org has promoted more than 2,800 research studies aimed at providing <strong data-start=\"2952\" data-end=\"2999\">rigorous knowledge, evidence, and proposals<\/strong> to address inequalities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3028\" data-end=\"3295\">Since 2009, the organization has focused on education as a <strong data-start=\"3087\" data-end=\"3150\">key pillar for progress and reducing inequalities of origin<\/strong>. The Yearbook of Education in Catalonia regularly analyzes the state of education and proposes public policies to address its main challenges.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3297\" data-end=\"3478\">In the past year, Equitat.org has published around twenty reports involving more than 200 professionals, delivering <strong data-start=\"3413\" data-end=\"3475\">over 80 evidence-based, effective, and realistic proposals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3480\" data-end=\"3544\"><strong data-start=\"3480\" data-end=\"3542\">3,000 volunteers for reading and preventing school dropout<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3546\" data-end=\"3709\">Equitat.org works with more than 1,800 teachers and collaborators, 270 municipalities, and 3,000 volunteers, with an active community of more than 40,000 people.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3711\" data-end=\"3915\">It promotes programs such as <strong data-start=\"3740\" data-end=\"3750\">Lecxit<\/strong> for reading comprehension, <strong data-start=\"3778\" data-end=\"3789\">Mentora<\/strong> to prevent school dropout, and <strong data-start=\"3821\" data-end=\"3841\">Magnet Alliances<\/strong> to reduce segregation, reaching nearly 12,000 children and adolescents.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3917\" data-end=\"4121\">It also drives partnerships such as <strong data-start=\"3953\" data-end=\"3970\">Education 360<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"3979\" data-end=\"4004\">Zero Dropout Platform<\/strong>, which connect stakeholders, share learning, and <strong data-start=\"4054\" data-end=\"4120\">promote more equitable education beyond the school environment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ismael Palac\u00edn, director: \u201cWe have been working for equity for 57 years.
